This site includes many of the most frequently asked questions and is available to you 24 hours a day – 7 days a week. In addition, this site allows you to renew your vehicle registration, update your address, and sign up for email renewal notifications – all online. In addition to the 580,000 vehicle registrations issued each year, the scope of our services includes 27,000 business licenses, occupancy tax for 225 hotels/motels, over 8,000 notary licenses, and issuing more than 6,000 marriage licenses annually. You can even take advantage of our Express Driver License Services which include renewals, name and address changes, or duplicates. We now accept Passport applications at our main office (523 Mainstream Drive).

Environmentally Friendly Drivers May Get A Break, updated on July 29, 2010

Davidson County residents who drive a hybrid or fuel-efficient car would be allowed to park free at city meters under a proposal from two Metro Council members dubbed "Drive Green, Park Free."

 

Council members Jason Holleman and Mike Jameson filed the ordinance Friday, July 23rd, with the Metro Clerk's office.  Under the proposal, an owner's vehicle would receive a score on a 1-18 scale based on the Federal Environmental Protection Agency's green vehicle guidelines. Business Tax Changes, updated on January 14, 2010

Chapter 530 of the Public Acts of 2009 amended the Tennessee Business Tax Act.  Effective January 1, 2010, all businesses operating within Davidson County are required to obtain a business license and report their gross receipts to the Tennessee Department of Revenue on an annual basis.

 

All businesses will continue to register with the County Clerk within 20 days after commencement of business to receive a business license.  If the business is operating within a municipality a separate business license is required.  A remittance of $15 must be ...continue

Here you will find information you will need to renew the license plate on your vehicle among other necessities. We hope these instructions will save you valuable time and make the process a little easier. If you have any questions about license plate renewal, please call the County Clerk's office at 615-862-6251.

Every new owner of a vehicle (private and/or commercial) shall apply to the Davidson County Clerk for the issuance of a Certificate of Registration. Collection of state and local sales taxes, where applicable, is done by this office when application is made.

Every owner, private and commercial, shall renew these tags in the main office or branches.
